Capitalization is when we write the first letter of a word in uppercase. We use it to show the beginning of sentences, names, and important words. Cases of Usage: Case 1: The first word of a sentence. Example: The dog is playing. Case 2: Names of people. Example: My name is Sarah. Case 3: Names of places. Example: I live in New York. Case 4: Days of the week and months. Example: My birthday is in April. Case 5: The pronoun "I." Example: I like to read. Exceptions or Things to Pay Attention To: We do not capitalize common nouns unless they are the first word of a sentence. Example: I have a cat. (not "Cat") Additional Notes: Remember to always capitalize the first letter of your name and the names of your friends. A common mistake is forgetting to capitalize "I" when talking about yourself.
