Reflexive pronouns are words we use when the person doing the action is the same as the person receiving the action. These words are: myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, yourselves, and themselves. Here's how to use them: 1. "Myself" when the subject is "I". - Example: I made this cake by myself. (I did it alone.) 2. "Yourself" when the subject is "you" (one person). - Example: You should be proud of yourself. 3. "Himself" when the subject can be replaced with "he". - Example: My brother taught himself how to play the guitar. (He learned alone.) 4. "Herself" when the subject can be replaced with "she". - Example: Emily looked at herself in the mirror. 5. "Itself" when the subject can be replaced with "it" (for animals or things). - Example: The cat cleaned itself. 6. "Ourselves" when the subject can be replaced with "we". - Example: We enjoyed ourselves at the party. 7. "Yourselves" when the subject can be replaced with you (more than one person). - Example: You all should take care of yourselves. 8. "Themselves" when the subject can be replaced with they. - Example: They introduced themselves to the new teacher. Reflexive pronouns often show that someone did something alone or without help.
