1. What are “How” questions?

We use “How” to ask about:

  1. condition (health, feelings)
  2. method (the way to do something)
  3. amount or degree (with extra words like much, many, often)

2. Basic Structure

With “be”:

How + be + subject … ?

Examples:

  1. How are you?
  2. How is your job?
  3. How are your parents?

Short Answers:

  1. I’m fine.
  2. She’s good.
  3. They’re okay.

With other verbs:

How + do/does + subject + verb … ?

Examples:

  1. How do you go to work?
  2. How do they study English?
  3. How does he cook rice?

Answers:

  1. I go by bus.
  2. They study at home.
