The order of adjectives is the way we use several adjectives before a noun. It helps make descriptions clear and understandable. We use this order to describe things in sentences. Opinion adjectives come first. These are adjectives that show what we think about something. Example: She has a beautiful, small dog. Size adjectives come after opinion adjectives. These describe how big or small something is. Example: He bought a big, old house. Age adjectives follow size adjectives. These tell us how old something is. Example: They have a lovely, new car. Shape adjectives come after age adjectives. These describe the form of something. Example: I saw a round, red apple. Colour adjectives are next and describe the colour of the noun. Example: She wore a bright, yellow dress. Material adjectives come after colour adjectives. These tell us what the noun is made of. Example: I bought a red wooden chair. She wore a blue cotton shirt. A common mistake is to mix up the order of adjectives. Remember the order: opinion, size, age, shape, colour, origin, material, and purpose. For example, "a lovely small old round blue French wooden table" follows this order.
