ToolsWord-Definition Matching

How To Use the Word-Definition Matching tool

01

Add a List of Words

Start by entering a list of words you want your students to learn. Simply type or paste the words into the designated box. If a word has multiple meanings, you can add a synonym in brackets to guide the tool in selecting the right definition.

02

Select the Level

Next, choose the appropriate language level for your students. You can select from CEFR levels (A1-C2), grade levels, or age groups. This ensures that the definitions will be tailored to your students' proficiency level.

03

Generate the Matching Exercise

Once your word list is ready, click “Do the magic!” and let Twee do the work. Within seconds, the tool will generate a matching exercise.

04

Review and Customize

Look through the generated definitions to ensure they align with your lesson’s focus. If needed, you can edit the definitions or add new words to refine the exercise.

05

Create a Glossary (mix-unmix)

The "Unmix definitions" button, located right below the word-definition pairs, lets you switch the task format — either keep it mixed for matching activities or unmix it to create a clear, organized glossary.
